Startups to strut their stuff at BetaBlox Demo Day
Are you looking to keep your finger on the pulse of the entrepreneurial atmosphere of Kansas City?
Are you looking to connect with other like-minded business people from around the community?
Then, mark your calendar for the BetaBlox Demo Day on Wednesday evening, March 11 at Union Station.
The BetaBlox Demo Day is your opportunity to network with a sea of entrepreneurs, startups, investors, bankers, government officials, service providers, and other professional stakeholders around Kansas City. More than 1,000 participants are expected for this high-powered evening. Admission is free, but an RSVP is necessary to attend.
BetaBlox is a close collaborator with LaunchKC, the national tech startup grants competition and a civic engine in the Kansas City tech scene. Drew Solomon, a member of the LaunchKC leadership team of staff leaders from the Downtown Council and the Economic Development Corporation, will introduce LaunchKC to the BetaBlox audience during the 6 p.m. portion of the program.
“BetaBlox is an exclusive school for startups,” said Wes Bergmann, the lead investor in BetaBlox. “Every year, we pick the best-of-the-best and then put them through a rigorous curriculum of classes, one-on-one consultation, and mentorship designed to give them a higher likelihood of survival. At the end of the program they pitch their startups for three minutes each to a room full of interested people – we call this “Demo Day.”
This year’s Demo Day will unfold, beginning at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 11 at Union Station:
- 5-6 p.m. Open networking, food and drinks
- 6-7:30 p.m. Start of presentations from entrepreneurs, plus a panel of investors talking about how to raise money in Kansas City for your small business or startups
